Bits & pieces
What's that traffic light on the new iTunes window? And, it's nice with that new icon but couldn't they have rethought the entire thing? iTunes feels like an unfitting name for something that does so many different things (you don't go to the "Music Store" to buy a book, do you?)

The normal practice among web developers for icons have always been to embed them in images and use CSS to display. We do this so much, we hardly think about it at all any more. Pictos, however, is a clever way of taking a step away from this. Instead of using images, you embed the Pictos font and use that instead.

My favorite note taking app, Simplenote, has just been updated — or perhaps upgraded is a better word. Along with a new more visually appealing graphical reform, we're seeing tons of new features and updates to the service itself.

Fisheye, macro and wide angle lenses available for use with camera phones.

High quality short about the chaos that a little lottery ticket can set about.

Looking is healing

Likewise, cosmonauts confined for months in outer space quickly lose interest in video programs and other diversions. They prefer to stare out the window at the untouchable Earth. More here.

Why lists are easier to read

September 16th, 2009

A great little essay by Paul Graham about why we prefer lists to regular essays. I like the cheeseburger example.

Odd architecture

Here’s a compilation of some odd buildings from around the world. Some are pretty good, others are just flat out weird.

First days of London

August 16th, 2009

I’ve been here a few days now, and I have to say I like it. I’ve been spending a lot of sweaty hours on the subway going North, East, West and South (I even took the train out to Egham one day to visit Max and Michael).

I’m looking forward to starting my internship tomorrow at Delete! I took a trip over there on Friday to say hi to them and it seems like a really nice place; I really liked the layout of the office as well (very spacious).

I’m going to Delete!

June 9th, 2009

It’s official! I’m going to Delete in London for my internship. It’s going to be really interesting to join the Delete team and try to help out in every way possible and also pick up some new skills. And London, oh sweet London. Apart from the short trip back when we released Visual Crooks I haven’t been able to enjoy this European capital as much as I would’ve liked to. It will definitely be a new experience. Along for the ride is my friend Max Lindquist, who will be doing his internship at another agency in London. It’s going to be a blast!

A rainy spring day

April 8th, 2009

I have decided that it’s officially spring, and I’m not going to change my mind. Here’s a snapshot from my french balcony, staring out on the roof tops of Karlskrona.
